MY BRIDES

This collection was born out of contact with Art Nouveau/Modernism.
The architecture of that time, where importance was given to the decorative arts, creating windows full of light and organic shapes. I found this romanticism very interesting to bring it to the world of wedding dresses.
I decided to research how women were represented within this type of art in order to better define the style of dress I could wear. I went from architecture, to forms inspired by nature and from that to the transparencies of carefully cut crystals. This research led me to the very famous modernist poster art, that which shows us a sensual, ethereal woman, with transparencies and always wrapped in elements of nature. An almost mystical character. A fusion between human and forest fairy, always represented as if she were light, a butterfly.
Eventually, the research evolved to the point of creating dresses inspired by a magical being. A hybrid with an elongated structure, which evolves into a chrysalis and has wings. Everything in this collection is thought about how and what these characters would wear, from the vaporous fabrics, to structures that remind us of flying insects.
